Hey There!
Moving to Corpus Christi was a big leap for our family of four. It’s a day’s drive from our family, our youngest was only a few months old, and we had never even been here before. It was a little scary at first, but instead of letting that hold me back, I decided I wanted to become part of the community here.
Now our boys—almost 4 and 2—are part of a wonderful homeschool group, my husband has found great friendships through work, and we’ve found a church we love. For me, baking and sharing these breads and sweets has become my way of connecting with the people around us.
It’s a joy to bring fresh sourdough and homemade treats to the market each week. My hope is that these bakes find their way onto family tables, are shared with friends, or even spark a conversation between strangers.
John 15:12
“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”
Our process
Every loaf begins with my sourdough starter, Genesis. Like its name suggests, it’s the beginning of all my bakes. Instead of commercial yeast, sourdough uses a natural fermentation process that takes time, patience, and care.
Each batch of dough is mixed, stretched, folded, and rested over many hours before being baked fresh. The result is bread with a deep flavor, a crisp crust, and a soft, airy interior.
Great bread begins with great ingredients. I use quality staples like Tillamook cheddar cheese, which I grate by hand, King Arthur Baking Company bread flour for dependable bakes, and filtered water in every loaf.
